Event Description:

Buy tickets online to National Theatre’s presentation from London of "Angels in America, Part I – Millennium Approaches" at 7 p.m. Friday, October 20 at the Newport Performing Arts Center (PAC), 777 W. Olive St. in Newport.

America in the mid-1980s. In the midst of the AIDS crisis and a conservative Reagan administration, New Yorkers grapple with life and death, love and sex, heaven and hell.

Andrew Garfield plays Prior Walter along with a cast including Denise Gough, Nathan Lane, James McArdle and Russell Tovey.

This new staging of Tony Kushner’s multi-award winning two-part play is directed by Olivier- and Tony-award-winning director Marianne Elliott.

Part Two: Perestroika, will show at 7 p.m. Friday, November 10.

National Theatre Live is an initiative by the UK’s National Theatre to broadcast live performances onto cinema screens around the world. Since its first season, which began in June 2009, millions have now experienced the National’s work on movie screens worldwide.
